NTEI Training Partner Policy & Guidelines
Together, we can empower the next generation of Nigeria fashion entrepreneurs
1. Purpose
These policies are established to ensure the safety, welfare, and professional development of all trainees under the NTEI Training Partnership Program, while also protecting NTEI from legal, reputational, and operational risks.
2. Eligibility of Training Partners
To participate in the NTEI program, all training partners must:
- Be a registered business or training institution in Nigeria
- Have NTEI Membership ID (Join NTEI Membership Program)
- Operate within the fashion/tailoring industry
- Have a functional workspace suitable for training
- Demonstrate proven experience in garment production or training
- Agree to comply fully with NTEI policies and monitoring procedures
3. Trainee Safety & Welfare Policy
Training partners must ensure:
- A safe, clean, and hazard-free working environment
- Access to basic facilities (restroom, ventilation, lighting)
- No exposure to unsafe equipment without proper guidance
- Immediate reporting of any injury or incident to NTEI
Strictly prohibited:
- Physical, verbal, or emotional abuse
- Exploitation of trainees for unpaid labor outside training scope
- Discrimination based on gender, religion, or background
4. Training Standards & Responsibilities
Training partners are required to:
- Provide structured, skill-based training (not just observation)
- Assign a qualified supervisor or instructor to trainees
- Follow agreed training timelines and curriculum guidelines
- Ensure trainees actively learn and practice tailoring skills
NTEI reserves the right to:
- Conduct random inspections
- Request progress reports
- Withdraw trainees if standards are not met
5. Working Hours & Conditions
- Training hours must be reasonable ( 5–8 hours daily, agreed schedule)
- Trainees must have rest breaks
- No overnight or unsafe working hours
- Attendance records must be maintained
6. Financial & Compensation Policy
- NTEI is responsible for training fees (as agreed)
- Training partners must not demand extra fees from trainees
- Any additional costs must be approved by NTEI
7. Legal & Liability Protection
Training partners operate as independent entities, not employees or agents of NTEI.
NTEI is not liable for:
- Misconduct within the partner’s facility
- for injuries resulting from negligence or misconduct by the Apprentice or Training Partner
Partners must take responsibility for:
- Their workspace safety
- Staff conduct and Equipment usage
Partners may be required to:
- Sign a formal partnership agreement
- Provide proof of business registration
- Accept termination if policies are violated
8. Code of Conduct
Training partners must:
- Treat trainees with professionalism and respect
- Maintain a learning-focused environment
- Avoid harassment, intimidation, or exploitation
- Communicate clearly and honestly with NTEI
9. Monitoring & Reporting
NTEI will:
- Conduct periodic check-ins (physical or virtual)
- Provide feedback channels for trainees
- Investigate complaints promptly
Training partners must:
- Cooperate fully with monitoring activities
- Report issues early before escalation
10. Termination Policy
NTEI reserves the right to terminate partnership if:
- Safety standards are violated
- Trainees are mistreated or exploited
- Training quality is consistently poor
- False information was provided during onboarding
Termination may be:
- Immediate (in severe cases)
- After warning and review (in minor cases)
11. Confidentiality & Reputation
- Training partners must not misuse NTEI’s name or brand
- Any public communication about the program must be accurate
- Trainee data must be handled responsibly
12. Agreement & Compliance
All training partners must formally agree to these policies before onboarding and are expected to comply throughout the duration of the partnership.
